purity-ring-austin-music-hall-cancelC3 Conerts’ website has the show canceled despite no announcement from the band. Earlier in the day they had posted on their Facebook the show would continue despite torrential rain but that post was deleted and the official ticket link went dead. An employ at the Austin Music Hall posted he was told to stay home because the show was canceled. The venue at 2nd street sits right next to Shoal creek which is experiencing flooding from 15th street down the 9th.

Despite the rainy weather many concert goers showed at 7pm for the Stubb’s show featuring Born Gold, BRAIDS and Purity Ring. Even before the doors opened questions arose on Stubb’s Facebook page after “Don’t forget to wear your rain gear tonight for Purity Ring- no umbrellas permitted!” was posted concerning the weather. A Tornado Watch was already in effect and rainy had been pouring at a few inches per hour.

Screen Shot 2015-05-23 at 10.07.22 PMBorn Gold and BRAIDS did play their sets but at the list minute a staff member came out and gave the crowd the bad news. They promised a reschedule show in the next few days. Looking at Purity Ring’s upcoming schdule they do have a gap between their May 24 show at Houston and their May 26 show in New Orleans. By that logic May 25th should be the rescheduled day and it works for Stubb’s schedule as well.
